Current vacancies:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team in the Louth office. Working within a professional environment, you will collaborate with an experienced team and gain exposure to all aspects of accounting. This role would suit someone who is AAT qualified or part ACCA qualified. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

You will support the Resident Partner and Associate at the Louth office. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Full client management, including managing your own client list
  • Attending client meetings and conducting on-site client visits
  • Liaising with clients via phone and email
  • Finalising accounts and preparing business and personal tax computations
  • Reviewing and preparing accounts and supporting working papers for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Reviewing and preparing VAT returns, including ensuring compliance with Making Tax Digital requirements
  • Day-to-day use of accounting software such as Iris, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
  • Bookkeeping tasks

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic full-time Client Manager/Senior Accountant to join our friendly team at our Boston office. This position reports directly to partner level, offering significant career progression opportunities within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Review accounts and tax computations/returns for a range of clients, with some preparation of accounts and tax work as needed.
  • Ensure all month-end submissions and deadlines are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Handle day-to-day client and team queries.
  • Perform other duties in support of the practice as required by the partners.

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years of practice experience.
  • Ability to work independently to strict deadlines.
  • High level of technical knowledge, including FRS 102/105.
  • Punctual, reliable, and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and bookkeeping software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
  • Experience with the Iris accounts production suite is advantageous but not essential.

We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to be part of a team of 8 payroll processors at our Boston office. This full-time role involves the ideal candidate being an integral part of the Payroll team.

The role involves dealing with weekly, fortnightly, four weekly and monthly payrolls to include Director only payrolls and electronically filing FPS or EPS submissions to HMRC per pay period. You would as part of the team be responsible for receiving the payroll information by various means and processing payrolls to the Client’s deadlines.

This will include processing basic pay, holiday pay, SSP, any statutory payments (SMP, SPP and ShPP). You will also be processing deductions from employees i.e. Cycle to Work Scheme, Deduction from Earnings Order, CSA deductions, Salary Sacrifices and Child Care Vouchers. You will as part of the team be responsible for calculating Holiday Pay for Clients on a pro rata basis for new starters and calculating any outstanding Holiday Pay when employees leave. You will also as part of the team answer calls internally and externally and liaise with the payroll manager to ensure deadlines are met.

As part of payroll processing, you will also need to submit/upload the Pension Contributions File to the Pension Provider for the Clients and enrol any members to the qualifying Schemes who have already reached their Staging Date with regards to Auto-enrolment and to advise the Client of the amounts and prepare the letters to be sent to the Client for the employees.

Other duties will include month end procedures i.e. calculating PAYE and NI due and advising Client of the amount due. As part of the team, you will also be involved in the year end process of finalising the payrolls and subsequently printing and sending to the Clients all the P60s for their employees and filing final submissions to HMRC.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in payroll processing or related field
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and software (particularly IRIS payroll software)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance
  • Certification in payroll or accounting is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year Payroll experience (preferred)

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Boston: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
