The Role

We are an established multi office accountancy practice dedicated to providing exceptional service and proactive advice to our diverse client base. We are looking for an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team based in our office in the heart of Lincoln.

This is a pivotal role where you will manage a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks, ensuring our clients’ records are accurate, compliant, and up-to-date. If you are a detail-oriented professional who enjoys building client relationships and thrives in a digital-first environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
  • Preparing VAT returns.
  • Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate digital records and ensuring "clean" data for senior review.
  • Acting as a point of contact for client queries regarding software and day-to-day finances.

Technical Skills & Requirements

  • Xero Expert: You must be highly proficient in Xero (Certification is a plus).
  • Microsoft Office: Strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is required.
  • Iris Accountancy Suite: Experience with Iris is highly desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Qualifications: AAT Level 3/4 qualified (or equivalent experience).

We are looking for someone who:

The ideal candidate should be able to work well within a team and possess good organisational skills to enable them to manage their time to meet all of the deadlines. In addition to this, good attention to detail and competent IT skills would be an advantage to ensure accurate records are produced.
