With his total experience spanning more than 15 years, James joined Dexter and Sharpe upon the acquisition of Hamshaw & Co in 2011.
He previously started with them as a junior in Sept 1997. James was made an associate of Dexter and Sharpe in July 2014 before becoming Partner in January 2016, James is resident at the Boston office.
As a general practice accountant James has a large and varied portfolio of clients of all sizes, which ensures that he has the experience to deal with any aspect from simple accounts to complex business plans and forecasts. This allows James to truly get a feel for your business and understand your requirements He enjoys the variation that this brings. As the firms registered Oxford Brookes mentor he is also responsible for trainees’ continued personal development after their successful completion of the ACCA qualification.
When not in the office James enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children all of whom keep him on his toes. James can often be found in the local gym or enjoying a game of football or tennis, or just relaxing whilst playing his guitar. Whilst his aspiration to be a racing driving may not have materialised he still finds the time to keep up to date with motor sport.
If James were stranded on a desert island other than a boat so that he could leave the island, James would like to have his guitar with him as he would finally have the time to be able to practice.
If James wasn’t an accountant where would he be? Being an 80’s child James has been heavily influenced by Top Gun so of course he would be a Fighter Pilot, “Can anything be better than flying above the clouds in a jet capable of mach 2 each day?”. Failing this he would like to have been a racing driver not only for the adrenaline rush but also to enjoy the jet setting lifestyle.
