With more than 21 years of taxation experience, Mike joined Dexter and Sharpe in November 2009, and was made an Associate in January 2014, although he is based at Boston, Mike provides support and expertise for all of our other offices.
Being Dexter and Sharpe’s Tax Associate ensures that Mike’s day is filled with a variety of challenges, ranging from the complex personal tax returns to the tax efficient formation of owner managed businesses to the inheritance tax affairs of high net worth individuals, all of which he relishes. The advice provided is always given on a practical level, in a manner that not only his colleagues will understand, but also in a manner that our clients understand.
Mike is also a keen public speaker, and is seen fronting all of our seminars, whether this relate to the budget, farming or auto enrolment.
When not at his desk, Mike has always had a keen interest in most if not all sports, including football, cricket, where he has a claim to fame in having taken a wicket of a first team Kent CCC player!, together with golf and most certainly running. He is also very much into his music and is a regular attendee of live music events.
In the community, Mike is the Chair of Governors at Heritage Park Primary school, in Peterborough and this he finds to be extremely rewarding.
When asked what Mike would like to take with him if he were stranded on a desert island, he responded by saying that he would want access to unlimited music, so he could enjoy the island whilst listening to some of his favourite tracks, it also brings him the added benefit of not having to listen to himself!
So if Mike wasn’t a tax advisor where would he be? In an attempt to break away from sitting behind a desk all day, Mike would pursue his love of sports and be a sports coach so that he could spend his days outside.
